Paul, a very tidy, well-behaved boy, meets a group of children who are in despair because their treehouse, perched above a stream, is about to be destroyed to make way for a new bridge.

Paul suggests that they move it, by floating it downstream. They set off, planning to dock a little further down. But everything changes when Boulon, the leader, suggests that they continue the adventure. Suddenly, Paul finds himself stuck on board with a group of children so very different from him, who want to escape the world of adults. They plan to follow the river all the way to the sea to reach “Elsewhere.”

One single motto: “Wild and free!”
